—to holy habitations

No one should come to this website to find out anything.

But if you are interested in taking a few moments
to speculate about those things that imbue our lives with
meaning—purpose—beauty,
this is the place for you.

This website is experimental, where the imagination does the knowing assisted by the rational faculties but not driven or dominated by them. I work within a long and respected tradition of poets, writers, artists, and saints (and now cognitive psychologists) who respect the imagination’s superior capacity for knowing truth. Truth experienced confers a different level of quiet confidence to our knowing that helps us live wisely and unruffled by the clamoring, power-hungry, money-grubbing voices of our day.

Of course, the inner eye of the imagination can be notoriously unreliable as a source of knowledge. As a Christian, I use this website as my speculative playground where I entertain ideas triggered by the exercise of an embodied imagination
(not a creative one), but I will always evaluate these ideas from within a biblical worldview. I invite those with other points of view to enter this playground with me, challenge my ideas, and contribute their own.

If truth is a person, and not a proposition, knowing truth means knowing a person. We know people through relationship,
not through reason. Relationship is an in-the-body, not out-of-body, experience. It requires actions, not talk;
time, not thought; shared living spaces, not other worlds.

Relationship requires us to open ourselves to the possibilities of knowing someone we think we know well
more deeply, fully, and completely.

Let’s imagine what those possibilities might look like
if that Someone is Truth, Life, Reality Itself.
